Two days ago I got back from a small vacation with my mother and aunt. The condo we were staying at didn't allow me to have cell phone service or internet. I get a miss call and call back, it's a children's book publishing company.

As I learn my mother had sent my book idea out to a publishing company without telling me. So after trying to call the company, and getting an answer machine, I get my dad to check my email for me. No new mail. I then ask my mother "which address did you give them?" To my dismay and horrible embarrassment I learn she had given them my personal email. Not the "professional" email attached to my resume or website. No. How poorly unprofessional I must have looked.

I eventually get internet access, thanks to my visiting-brother's iPhone. They said they were interested in publishing the book, but was impressed by my art. They asked if I had any black and white line drawings, which I replied that I sadly do not. I guess it's something to work towards?

Being in this current environment I'm finding it rather creativity sucking. ) : I keep telling myself I need to create some new art, but so far it hasn't happened yet. ;___; I need to find some motivation. I do have some ideas sitting around in my head. I've been thinking perhaps going back and exploring some other mediums besides chalk pastels like color pencils and water color. Hopefully it'll happen soon.
